I have not grown Paper Daisies (Rhodanthe manglesii) for a while but now I wonder why.
They are beautiful and I always end up drying some for a vase.
The texture of the flowers is funny and quite unique and the only thing they require is sunshine.

I usually grow my aquilegias from seed even though it takes two to three years from them to start blooming up here in the north.
With William Guiness (Aquilegia vulgaris ‘William Guiness’) I made an exception and bought a root ball.
The color of this aquilegia is very dark purple and it sort of needs a suitable background to stand out. The shape though is beautiful and stems tall.

Though having the May in its name the ox-eye daisy (Chrysanthemum leucanthemym ‘May Queen’) starts to bloom in June up here in the north.
The month of June has been exceptionally warm. Usually the weather is quite cool but not this year.
Everything grows fast and soon the lilies will open their flowers.

The snowball bush (Viburnum opulus) is blooming .
In the beginning the blooms are light green and then turn to white.
Originally we only had one bush but I managed to create two more by bending a branch to the ground and letting it grow roots. Then moving the new bush to another location.

Moss Phlox White Delight (Phlox subulata ‘White Delight’) is blooming at its best at the moment.
It seems to do well in a spot which is only inches away from the lake but receives ten hours of direct sunlight every day.
It is a hard place for any other plant because the temperature rises so high during sunny days.

I renewed one of the flowerbeds last year and thought that I lost the Snowdrop Windflowers (Anemone sylvestris) that I had.
Luckily few of them started to bloom this year.
It seems to be a very though plant and is not sensitive to rough handling.

The late blooming tulips are still blooming up here in the north. Most of the others are already gone.
The flaming flags (Tulipa ‘Flaming flag’) are doing well and it seems that we did not loose any during the winter.
We have been promised good weather for the next week and hopefully the summer flowers start their show.

The summer is finally arriving to the north. We have had two beautiful and warmish days in a row. Nature is starting to get its green color.
Cold weather is always good for the daffodils. They simply bloom longer.
Pink Charm (Narcissus‘Pink Charm’) is at its best and seems to enjoy the weather as do I.

The first tulips are slowly starting to bloom. The month of May has been cold up here in the north and during many nights we have gone below the freezing point.
I have finally managed to plant all the flowers for the summer. Have several raised flowerbeds and it sure has been a task to have them renewed. I usually change the soil after five years to prevent the roots of the nearby trees to take over.
Pinocchio (Tulipa ‘Pinocchio’) is now blooming though not yet as red in color as it gets later on.
Also been laughing a lot. Few years back someone made a spelling mistake with the name of our county. For some reason Mäntyharju (Pine Ridge) was spelled Mäntyharja (Pine brush) in Facebook and Instagram. Now in half of the posts we have as the location the Pine brush version 😂

Daffodil Ice King (Narcissus ’Ice King’) just started to bloom and it is a very interesting one.
It is a new purchase I made few weeks ago. Actually never seen this variety before.
Daffodils are many and it seems that I just keep on buying more. This one goes to the summer cottage and hopefully it will bloom again next year.
