Snowdrop Windflower

It has been quite cool start of the summer up here in the north. Not many warm days yet.

Spending a week in the summer cottage and still need to burn wood in the fireplace to stay warm during the nights.

The Snowdrop Windflowers (Anemone sylvestris) are blooming now. A bit beaten by the wind and rain but still beautiful.

If the plant likes the place it will spread rapidly and has a very large root network.

Snowdrop Windflower

The snowdrop windflowers started to bloom today. Like they all decided to open their flowers on the same day.

At first I was sure that they will not make it up here but then they started to spread and are now doing well.

Now they are just in one flower bead but my plan is to move some of them to new places to have them in several different locations.

Snowdrop1

One of the early bloomers is snowdrop windflower. Six were planted last year and only two made it through the winter. Not sure that I will have any next summer.

It is nice to try new flowers but you do not always succeed.

Snowdrop windflower has beautiful white flowers and when they are gone decorative seedcases remain.

It would be nice addition to the garden. Just need to wait and see if it decides to remain here.
