Splendens (Dianthus deltoides ‘Splendens’) gave a spectacular show this year. It bloomed long and had huge amount of flowers. Bought two pots last year just out of curiosity to see how would they do. Never did I expect results this good. This year planted some more from seeds.

Lilies are doing well this summer. I have several different varieties in full bloom. For several years the Prunottos (Lilium ‘Prunotto’) have performed well and seem to be very suitable for this area. I like the bright color they have and they also seem to be very easy when it comes to the soil requirements.

Planted more of Painted Daisies (Chrysanthemum carinatum) this year. Tried them last year and liked the blooms. You never know what colors you are going to get until the blooms open. I guess this will become a regular annual for my garden.

I have not grown Paper Daisies (Rhodanthe manglesii) for a while but now I wonder why. They are beautiful and I always end up drying some for a vase. The texture of the flowers is funny and quite unique and the only thing they require is sunshine.
